Edgar Ballard Oral History, Part 4
On November 20, 2002, Edgar Ballard told a TPWD interviewer about some of his experiences as a CCC enrollee at Garner State Park. In this part of the interview, he tells how the enrollees crowded into an old G.I. truck and traveled on dirt roads most Saturday nights to attend dances in Uvalde or Sabinal. Ballard nevertheless remembers the experience as positive: it was a night away from camp and a far cry better than listening to the sounds of coyotes on his farm located south of Pearsall, Texas.
