Picnic Table, Goliad State Park, c. 1938
This whimsical, yet functional picnic table rests at Goliad State Park. The seating is comprised of local blocks of limestone interspersed with sections of logs. The table top is an octagonal slab of cast concrete, and the table base is a huge tree stump. The table does not appear in the CCC architectural drawings, which suggests it was an on-site improvisation.
