Mechanical Repairs, Daingerfield State Park, c. 1938
This photo, believed to be of Company 1801 members, depicts a common scene on CCC projects: maintenance. Equipment that the CCC received was often old and worn, which meant that it needed frequent maintenance. Limited funds and the unavailability of replacement parts required workers to earn how to "make do" in order to extend the life of what few pieces of mechanical equipment they had.
