Pavilion, Big Spring State Park, c. 2000
For the pavilion atop Scenic Mountain, Company 1857 enrollees used finely dressed limestone quarried from the mountain and incorporated a deeply rounded arch in the design of the gable ends. The building is sited to allow views of the Great Plains opening to the north and west.
