"The CCC boys at Tyler State Park have established a safety record. During the two years of the camps [sic] operation not one accident has been caused from equipment operation," boasted one local newspaper several years after the camp began work. As in the military, safety and accident prevention were paramount concerns, and emphasized in all aspects of training and work.
