By 1941 the State Parks Board endorsed postcard views of its new parks; these promoted parks statewide. Mailed by "Ruth" of Ardmore, Oklahoma, on July 5, 1941 to "Delias" of Pueblo, Colorado, the postcard contains a familiar message: "We are having a grand time. It sure is hot here."
