The State Parks Board and National Park Service had planned extensive visitor facilities at Palo Duro Canyon, but land-ownership issues prevented fulfillment of their visions. This south-southwest view of Palo Duro's Timbercreek Canyon shows an area of the park in which the CCC companies established a stone quarry from which they obtained material for the roads, trails, and buildings.
