Construction of Lake Bosque Dam, Meridian State Park, c. 1933
This photo shows the initial work on the dam across Bee Creek that impounded the waters of Lake Bosque. Because such large-scale construction sites presented serious dangers for unskilled workers, CCC leaders stressed strict adherence to job safety measures. Here, shoring is in place and the crew is filling the trench with concrete.
