National Park Service Officials Visit Big Bend in Texas and Mexico, 1936
When Texas offered "Big Bend State Park" as a candidate for a national park, NPS officials organized a number of inspection trips, including this excursion to the Mexican side of the Rio Grande River. Architect Herbert Maier, the leading architect for park designs nation-wide as well as in Texas, is the individual seated on the ground.
