Cedar Lake Spillway, Cleburne State Park, 1936-1940

To enhance recreational opportunities for this new park and provide a water supply for the City of Cleburne, the men of Company 3804 were charged with the construction of Cedar Lake. They impounded the lake behind an earthen dam that had a stone-lined, stair-stepped spillway against the east side cliff. To reduce erosion they laid cut stone rip-rap on the shoulders of the spillway.
